The mission of Sunday School is to provide opportunities for our children to grow as Christians through the teaching of love for self and others, the life of Jesus Christ, Christian values, Episcopal tradition, prayer, and outreach experiences by means of creative and attractive activities.
Classes are for children age four years through sixth grade, and are held during the 10:30 a.m. service from September through June. Children are returned to their family during the Peace portion of the service.
The Sunday School curriculum is Weaving God's Promises, an Episcopal, Christian based curriculum. Class sessions are structured around the Holy Eucharist with gathering, story, prayer, sharing and sending forth activities. Children have access to a variety of learning activities including story telling, dramatic play, song, arts and crafts prayer and reflection.Would you like to join our Ministry?
As a parishioner, you can enrich the Sunday School experience in many ways. We are always looking to add to our list of regular, weekly teachers who can provide continuity from week to week.
Or, perhaps you would like to:
• Provide a morning snack
• Share a story or craft
• Organize an outreach project
• Host a family activity night at the church
• Teach songs or dance
• Help the children plan their role in the family worship service on Christmas Eve
Please let us know how you would like to be a part of this very important program! Contact Denise Hammer through the church office at 360-357-8257.
