As our annual stewardship campaign gets underway, you have been hearing about the theme, Rooted in Abundance, and its reminder to us that we are inspired to give because so much has been given to us. This is not transactional – we do not give in proportion to how we feel we have benefitted or suffered – rather we give because of the love we have experienced in the story of our faith. We have explored trees, roots, flowers all as metaphors for the way we dig deep into what nourishes us to transform that goodness into work, service, and joy in a world that needs us.

I am grateful that you have called me to lead this annual process of telling the story of our abundance and our gratitude. I love hearing the stories that you will tell about what connects you to St. John’s | San Juan and how your family flourishes where it has been planted. Every gift matters this year, and each gift will be accepted, brought to the altar, and blessed before God and our community.

This year, as you pray about your commitment to our church, please tap into that nourishing structure of faith and generosity shown to us by an extravagant God, a patient Shepherd, and a gathering Spirit who call us to extend our networks and share our gifts with the world. When you are rooted in abundance, you realize that your giving can be as boundless as the Creation that gave birth to us all. Thank you for your generosity and your prayerful consideration of your pledge to St. John’s | San Juan.

A medida que se pone en marcha nuestra campaña anual de corresponsabilidad, ha estado escuchando sobre el tema, Radicalizado en la Abundancia, y su recordatorio para nosotros de que estamos inspirados a dar porque se nos ha dado mucho. Esto no es transaccional, no damos en proporción a cómo sentimos que nos hemos beneficiado o sufrido, sino que damos por el amor que hemos experimentado en la historia de nuestra fe. Hemos explorado árboles, raíces, flores, todo como metáforas de la forma en que profundizamos en lo que nos nutre para transformar esa bondad en trabajo, servicio y alegría en un mundo que nos necesita.

Estoy agradecido de que me hayan llamado para liderar este proceso anual de contar la historia de nuestra abundancia y nuestra gratitud. Me encanta escuchar las historias que contarás sobre lo que te conecta con St. John’s | San Juan y cómo tu familia florece donde ha sido plantada. Cada regalo es importante este año, y cada regalo será aceptado, llevado al altar y bendecido ante Dios y nuestra comunidad.

Este año, mientras ora acerca de su compromiso con nuestra iglesia, aproveche esa estructura nutritiva de fe y generosidad que nos muestra un Dios extravagante, un Pastor paciente y un Espíritu de reunión que nos llama a extender nuestras redes y compartir nuestros dones. con el mundo Cuando estás arraigado en la abundancia, te das cuenta de que tu generosidad puede ser tan ilimitada como la Creación que nos dio a luz a todos.
